Job Summary
The Production Engineer will be responsible for planning, inventory coordination, supervising assembly operations, testing, packaging, and ensuring smooth production processes for embedded electronic medical devices. The role involves hands-on involvement in PCB assembly, firmware loading, calibration, functional testing, and final product dispatch while maintaining regulatory and quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan daily and weekly production schedules.
- Coordinate with purchase/store for availability of components.
- Monitor raw material stock levels and raise material requisitions as per production targets.
- Ensure FIFO and batch traceability in inventory management.
- Supervise and work with assembly , wire harness assembly, mechanical assembly, and final product integration.
- Ensure proper ESD handling and adherence to SOP and BOM.
- Oversee firmware flashing, functional testing.
- Coordinate with QA for final inspection and troubleshoot production issues.
- Supervise labeling, batch numbering, and safe packaging of finished medical devices.
- Lead and assign tasks to technicians and assembly operators.
- Conduct training on assembly procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Improve production cycle time and reduce rejection rates.
- Maintain production records, documentation, and compliance with ISO 13485 and GMP
requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s / Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Production / Industrial Engineering, or Embedded Systems.
Experience Required
2–6 years of experience in medical device manufacturing, embedded electronics production, or PCB assembly and testing.
Technical Skills
- Understanding of embedded systems and microcontrollers.
- Basic PCB troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of sensors, motor control systems, and testing tools.
- Familiarity with multimeter, oscilloscope, and firmware loading tools.
- Experience in maintaining production documentation and MIS reports.
